Roles

Chapter Director:
The Chapter Director is responsible for a number of activities in addition to chairing every weekly meeting of the chapter.

The responsibilities include selecting the other members of the chapter committee and ensuring that not only do they know what their responsibilities are but that they are also able to carry them out to the benefit of the chapter as a whole.

Membership Coordinator:
The Membership Coordinator chairs the Membership Committee and is responsible for keeping up-to-date records for the chapter and reporting average referrals and visitor statistics to the members.

Secretary/Treasurer:
The Secretary/Treasurer keeps accurate records with regards to chapter membership fees and remitting all new membership and renewal applications plus fees. It is also the Secretary/Treasurer’s responsibility to keep a current list of speakers and remind speakers of the dates they are expected to speak.

Events Coordinator (BNI Training):
The Events Coordinator (BNI Training) is responsible for the promoting BNI workshops, particularly to new members, and assisting them to register.

Social Events Coordinator:
The Social Events Coordinator is responsible for the arranging and promoting social events outside of the regular weekly meetings and centrally-organised events.

Education Coordinator:
The Education Coordinator is responsible for the Networking Education of every member and for filling the education spot at every meeting either personally or by inviting another member to speak on a relevant education topic.

Mentor Coordinator:
The Mentor Coordinator is responsible for pairing an experienced member of the chapter with every new member to assist the new member quickly settle in and start getting the most out of his or her membership.

Power Team Coordinator:
A Power Team is a group of individuals with the same clients and the same target market. The Power Team Coordinator is responsible for helping members of a power team maximise the synergy between them for mutual profit.

Membership Committee:
Consists of the Membership Coordinator (chair), the Secretary/Treasurer, the Education and Events Coordinators and one or two other members. The Chapter Director is not a member of the Membership Committee but usually attends ex officio and has a casting vote when required.

Visitor Hosts:
The role of Visitor Host is one of the most important in the chapter. They are responsible for ensuring that visitors to the chapter are welcomed and introduced to the members. They answer any questions the visitors may have and will guide interested visitors through the membership application process.

 

Rotation

All members of the chapter are potentially qualified to assist in the smooth running and success of the chapter by occupying any of the above roles described above. Appointment to a role is for a twelve-month period beginning on 1st April every year. Training for these roles is provided by BNI and is held in early March and September each year.
